Accommodation in London

A £200 deposit is required to secure your accommodation pre-departure. These types of accommodation are centrally located in the heart of London. There are catered and self-catering options available. Catered options include breakfast and dinner Monday-Friday and a cooked breakfast and lunch on weekends. Some accommodation sites also have on-site gym access.

You will live with other Australians and New Zealanders on the Jumpstart London program, University Students and young working professionals from the UK and abroad. There are single and shared room options available. Move-in is available from your first day in London from the airport!

  • Twin (sharing with one other) - £178.60 per week
  • Single (room to yourself) - £216.68 per week

Shared Houses are located in Zone 2-3

You will have the option of staying in a twin-shared or double room. Our houses are in zones 2-3 of East and South West London and are about 25-35 minutes commute on the tube into central London. The majority of the shared houses are based in Zone 3 in East London, Leytonstone.

Weekly rentals include all bills and free wifi and start from (Prices are valid until April 2024; price increase may occur, please check with us; this age is used as a guide.

Please note: Availability in our shared housing is limited. If this type of accommodation is your preference, you will start in one of the other types of accommodation on arrival (so you've got a bed guaranteed for your move-in when you touch down), and then once you are here, you will go on our waiting list for a bed in shared houses. Once you turn on the waiting list, the property team will contact you to set up a viewing. You will go and check out the room, meet potential housemates, and if you prefer the room to your current accommodation, sign a tenant agreement for the house and make the swap to shared housing.

3-Star Hotel: East London

You can stay in a single, or double room within a boutique 3* hotel in Leytonstone, East London. All rooms have ensuites and tea/coffee-making facilities. Room types within this accommodation are subject to availability.

Weekly rentals for hotel-style rooms are: £150 per week, all bills included (small single room with a single bed) £180 per week, all bills included (double room with a double bed for couples)

Share housing is in high demand in London. On average there are 30 people on a waiting list. Once you book into the Jumpstart London Program, you will go on a waiting list to give yourself a better chance of getting into a property. You will start the program in City rooms or the Alfred Hitchcock Hotel. This way, you can view your accommodation or one of our communal houses until you find the right property. City rooms and the Alfred Hitchcock are week to week (no long-term commitment required).

Job Type: Flexible.

Position: Labourer.

Pay: £10/hour.

Location: Central London.

Start time: 8 am – about 4 pm.

Pay: £80 per day + £10 per hour overtime + tips.

Transferable skills from other work such as labouring, gardening, and farm work are highly desirable.

Weekly pay for all jobs and no need to work 5 days a week, just whenever you want.

Youth Mobility Visa

  • The UK Youth Mobility Visa allows you to work in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland for a 2-year duration from the date you enter the United Kingdom.
  • You are permitted to leave and re-enter the UK any number of times within this period.
  • Processing times for the Visa can vary from 4-6 weeks so you will need to leave sufficient time to apply before your intended travel dates.
  • We recommend you apply at least 2 months before you intend to travel.
  • There is a fast-track service however the British High Commission charges an additional fee for this.
  • Once your Visa is granted, your passport will be returned to you with an entry clearance stamp for a 30-day duration, from the date you have chosen in your application.
  • You will then be required to enter the UK within this period and pick up what is called your Biometrics Residency Permit.

  • Your Visa Fees are payable to the British High Commission.
  • Immigration Healthcare Surcharge (IHS) £940 GBP.
  • Visa Application Fee £298 GBP.
  • Applications from Brisbane, Canberra, or Perth, will incur an additional fee of $105AUD to book your biometrics appointment.
  • If you choose to have your passport couriered then this will cost $24AUD. You can however opt to pick this up from your appointment location centre.
  • These fees are non-refundable if your application is unsuccessful.
  • In 2017 over 40% of first-time applicants were rejected because of simple omissions and commonly made mistakes.
  • Because the Visa application is entirely computer-processed, applications can be rejected for errors as small as an incorrect date on a bank statement.

The jumpstart London has a fixed intake calendar with a maximum of 15 new arrivals per week in peak seasons, and five arrivals in a low seasons and January and December traditionally blocked out.

We have 33 intake sessions in year.

You need to provide an estimated arrival week and month so that we can check our availabilities before you sign up. This can be changed it's often as you like, however once you have committed to a deposit payment for a room you will be locked in on those days

Yes we do you have availability is for friends and partners travelling together, but first we will check if there is an availability for friends to share or a double room available for partners before you sign up

Yes you can as long as the employment opportunities you're going for is suitable for a male or a female. For example our events crewing work, removalist work and general labour is not suitable for females who are unable to lift heavy equipment. Our hospitality work is suitable for friends and partners working together. Our hospitality Schiff’s can we booked on an app, and you can book those together

Yes we offer a variety of pre and removals work departure opportunities, mainly hospitality, events labouring, general labouring and removal work

Yes I our rooms or guaranteed pre departure, you will be provided with an exact configuration of availabilities and locations of the rooms available to you based on the arrival dates you have given our support team.
