As Cypress is located within a provincial park, there is unfortunately no accommodation on the mountain. However they are just a 15-20min drive from both North & West Vancouver. The majority of their staff find accommodation in North Vancouver or downtown Vancouver where Cypress runs a free shuttle bus for staff members to get to work.
A Vancouver orientation/housing guide will be supplied to you to assist you in locating potential housing options for the duration of your employment and other essentials needed. You may also choose to wait and meet your new colleagues and find a place together, this may give you more options as to the type of accommodation you are looking to secure.
There are many hostels in the city, and you can extend your stay in the Samesun Hostel if you wish until you find a suitable place or other roomies. Cypress Ski Resort and TWHC will provide as many resources as possible. Do your research before you arrive so you know the pricing and availability on the types of accommodation you are looking at.

Given the location of this resort to the west coast, this is one of the warmest resorts, rarely suffering really cold temps (anything below -20 usually only lasts for a couple weeks)
Cypress has a range of outdoor and indoor roles. Lift operations, base area operations (snow clearing, parking & cleaning), retail, rentals, guest services, various food & beverage both back and front of house etc. The range of roles on offer changes annually due to the amount of returning staff.
For those looking to climb the management ladder, you will need to stick around for back to back seasons.

The TWHC will assist with your first seasons contract. The ball is in your court – we help you get the job, you need to work hard to keep it. Ongoing extension of contracts are based on seasonal performance and at the determination of management. If in doubt – ask your manager. Cypress closes for the Summer months. If you have taken a years lease in a city, touch base with Grouse Mountain as they run summer operations and are always looking for trained & experienced staff
This location offers the opportunity to work in a ski resort but live in a beautiful city. Not many locations world wide can offer this situation.
If you already have accommodation sorted in Vancouver this is a great option for you.
This resort doesn’t offer staff housing. So rolling up to a foreign country/city and having to find accomodation is super daunting. It is doable…but for your first season, we would recommend choosing an employer that offers the dual security of employment and accomodation.
As this is a smaller resort closer to the city the amount of snowfall can sometimes be much less than resorts further into the interior or up at Whistler.

Making specialty coffee drinks in the Gold Medal Cafe. 1+ years’ experience in a coffee bar is preferred for this busy outlet.
Cooking and filling food orders of our guests in the high volume, fast paced Cafeteria environment. Food prep of all menu items, slicing and portioning of food is also a requirement of this position.
2+ years’ experience necessary for this role of washing and sanitising of kitchen small wares, dishes and equipment.
Technical certification is provided for those with some mechanical aptitude and an ability to work quickly and efficiently setting the bindings on rental skis and boards.

Tuning and repairing of both skis and snowboards. You will be working on both customer’s equipment and rental equipment. Experience is necessary for this position.
Assisting our skiing/snowboarding guests on and off of the lifts in a safe and courteous manner is the essence of the lift attendant. All work is outside, you must be 18 years of age and training will be provided.
Working outdoors maintaining and operating Cypress’s three terrain parks plus our air bag site. Must be an advanced level skier/snowboarder with an enjoyment of riding park features who is in excellent physical condition and not afraid to work hard.
Directing traffic in the parking lots, snow shoveling and maintaining the base area are the primary functions of this role. Must be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
You will be verifying the validity of our lift tickets and passes as Guests enter the area through the Axess system. Work is outdoors in all weather conditions. Exceptional customer service and problem resolution skills a must.
A variety of indoor janitorial duties to keep common areas, including washrooms, clean and functional.
Cleaning tables and trays, and disposing of waste in the cafeteria are your main responsibilities.
A Ski/Snowboard Instructor supervises and instructs classes on the ski hill and assists with School events and operations. You need your CSIA or CASI Certificate. Individuals with Level II and/or dual certification will be given preference.
You will be responsible for both selling lesson packages to our guests as well as checking-in those who have already registered online. Strong customer service skills are essential.
Ticket sales,selling/processing season passes, answering the phones and general Guest inquiries are the main responsibilities of this role. Administrative skills and a strong customer service background are essential.
A variety of outdoor maintenance and minor construction duties to keep base area facilities safe, clean and functional (includes snow shoveling).
Enjoy working in a rustic cabin in the cross country area. Just a 10 minute walk or ski in to historic Hollyburn Lodge. Base area food service positions also available.
Assisting guests in the snow tubing park and operating the ‘tube tow’. Strong customer service skills a must.
Instructors are responsible for the supervision and instruction of classes and assisting with Snow School events and operations. CANSI certificate required. Snowshoe Guides are responsible for leading interpretive tours through the Nordic Area, with a focus on fun and safety.
Ensure that all skiers on trails have a valid day ticket or season pass, while also establishing positive public relations.
