The Lake Louise Ski Resort is a world-class ski area nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. We are a year-round operation, operating as a ski resort in the winter months and as a sightseeing gondola in the summer months. Whether you want to work indoors or outdoors, no day will ever be the same. As an employee you can expect a great working environment, employee benefits, competitive wages and the experience of a lifetime. Spend your weekends exploring Banff National Park, with the town of Banff only 50 minutes east, and Calgary just under two hours away.

Live Here

Full-time seasonal employees of the Lake Louise Ski Area (LLSA) are offered affordable, subsidized shared staff accommodation in either company owned housing or a resort-leased property located in and around the Lake Louise area.

All employees are required to sign a Tenancy Agreement outlining the rules and regulations of LLSA Staff Accommodation and are required to pay a security deposit of $250 CAD upon check in, no exceptions.

Staff transportation is provided from all of our accommodations to the resort on a set schedule, and this can take up to 15 minutes to reach Lake Louise Ski Resort from Lake Louise Staff Housing.

48 hours before your first day of work. The housing office is open seven days a week, and check-in times are between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm. If you are arriving in Lake Louise after 5:30 pm you will need to organize your accommodation for the evening. Criminal record check not required at housing check in (criminal record check is required during the onboarding paperwork process).

The Lake Louise Ski Resort operates as both a domestic and international destination catering to avid ski and snowboard recreationalists in the winter season. It employs over 700 staff. During the summer months the resort operates as a summer sightseeing gondola and employs over 200 staff.

This location offers subsidized shared staff housing. There are minimal rooms available for couples. Staff housing is in the township of Lake Louise which is roughly 7 mins from the resort. There is a staff bus that runs regularly to transport employees to and from their accommodation to the resort. Rooms can be private with shared washrooms, through to 2-4 people per room with either single beds or bunk beds. Housing is allocated by Lake Louise Ski Resort based on job, tenure and other factors. Once you have a job contract is when you can submit your housing application, and include roommate preferences. While preferences are considered, they cannot be guaranteed.

The hamlet of Lake Louise does not offer much in the way of nightlife. The village consists of a liquor store, 2 x petrol stations, cafe, pretty small bar, retail store, medical clinic, recreation centre and a small grocery store. The staff accommodation sites have a common space that employees can utilize to socialize, however if you want to be amongst the action Banff is about 50 minutes away. You can book a night in Banff for your days off or weekends.

Saturation of Aussies is moderate to high.

This place gets VERY cold in the winter. Temps can get down to -30 on a regular basis during the winter.

Lake Louise has a range of outdoor and indoor roles. These include positions in our Guest Services, Mountain Greeting, Lift Operations (must be able to ski to an intermediate level), Retail, Rentals, Food & Beverage, Parking Lot, and Housing to name a few!

For those looking to climb the leadership ladder, you will need to stick around for back to back seasons. If you are looking to transfer positions within the season, you should expect to complete your first three months of employment within your first job.

This resort offers a ski pass with your employment.

This resort is the largest ski resort in the Rockies. Has 4200 acres of skiable terrain. The powder skiing here is incredible, not to mention the most epic views of the Canadian Rockies. The resort also has epic terrain parks. If you are a park hound, this is going to be great for you.

Reciprocal benefits to other local ski areas for full time employees. Sunshine Village & Norquay are the mountains that are typically where your staff pass will give you access. Clarify with management if there are any ‘blackout’ days for these other resorts before traveling to them.

Lake Louise is 50 mins from Banff and roughly 1.45/hrs from Calgary airport. The resort of Lake Louise is a 7 min drive from the township of Lake Louise.

The TWHC will assist with your first season's contract. The ball is in your court – we help you get the job, you need to work hard to keep it. Ongoing extension of contracts are based on seasonal performance and at the determination of management, as is Housing. If in doubt – ask your manager. Lake Louise operates a summer operation and should your performance be amazing during your season, you could expect to be asked about extending your contract.

Basically because it's like living in a postcard. Absolutely incredible!! Skiing is killer. This resort, while quite large, doesn't feel massive and as a staff member, it doesn’t feel like you're just another number!

The only reason for us would be if you can’t deal with cold temperatures. This location can get down to some seriously low temps -30 is quite common so having good quality snow gear is essential.
