Work on a team that is built on mutual respect, collaboration, excellent service and a passion for hospitality, food and wine. Working at the Four Seasons Resort Whistler is an unforgettable way to spend your working holiday in Canada!

The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler is located in the Upper Village, near the base of Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler. Whistler is approximately a 2-hour drive from Vancouver, in the province of British Columbia.

Whistler is a beautiful mountain town, surrounded by lots of mountains, trees, lakes, and wildlife.

In the winter the main sports are skiing and snowboarding, in the summer biking, hiking, canoeing, swimming, camping, etc. are also popular. Since Whistler is a big tourist destination, there are also many activities like Bungee Jumping, Zip-lining, Snowmobiling, ATVing, White Water Rafting, and more!

The workforce is from all over the world, so the work environment is high energy. Everyone at the Whistler Four Seasons is very eager to learn, and we have so many great opportunities to do so. We really focus on our Golden Rule of, “Treat others as you wish to be treated” which goes a long way for the type of service we provide to guests, and also the equal treatment that all employees display and receive.

From Vancouver, new employees will typically take a bus. The most direct service is with Skylinx, as they take you right from the airport, however the cheaper option is taking the Epic Rides from downtown Vancouver.

Lots of Nightlife - plenty of bars, clubs and extracurricular activities.

Saturation of Aussies is HIGH

Given the location of this resort to the west coast, this is the warmest resort from all resorts, typically only suffering really cold temps (anything below -20 which usually lasts for a couple weeks)

Predominantly housekeeping and back of house roles. There are limited front facing roles in the front of house for experienced hotel front desk applicants and a range of front and back of house food and beverage roles. The range and number of roles changes from season to season based on the number of returning staff.

This employer is world renown so it will look great on your resume. For those looking to climb the management ladder, you will need to stick around for back to back seasons. Keep in mind The Four Seasons operate various hotels around the world. Should your performance be outstanding you could transfer to an employer in your home country. Those wanting to start a career in hotels…our recommendation is start in Housekeeping. Why? Simply because when you get to be a front desk or hotel manager you will have complete appreciation and understanding of how the back of house operates.

Ski passes, or leisure passes (the value of the ski pass) will be provided to all employees. We do require the fulfillment of your 6-month contract. If you choose to leave the company, you will be required to reimburse the value of the ski pass.

Whistler Blackcomb is the largest ski resort in North America, with 2 massive ski mountains connected by the Peak to Peak Gondola. The longest run is over 11 km long. Between both hills, there are over 3000 acres of skiable terrain.

Whistler is an easy 2 hours drive up the Sea to Sky Highway from Vancouver. Vancouver has a large international airport and is only an hour drive to the USA land border with Washington state.

TWHC will assist with your first season's contract. The ball is in your court – we help you get the job, you need to work hard to keep it. Ongoing extension of contracts are based on seasonal performance and at the determination of management, as is staff housing. Four Seasons operates year round and contracts will be extended based on performance.

Whistler is the biggest and most well known ski town in North America! It’s usually where your mates have been or will recommend you to go. Great night club and party action. With popularity, comes more crowds which can mean more lines for lifts etc. This resort will do over 35,000 skier visits in one day over the Christmas period so it gets VERY busy. There are 2 massive ski mountains in one place so the in-bounds skiing and riding is phenomenal and plentiful. So is backcountry skiing. In the summer, if you're a keen mountain biker, alpine hiker or love to climb…this is your place!

It is absolutely packed to the eyeballs and super busy. Lots of staff do find Whistler expensive. When you have more to do in terms of nightlife, bars, drinking and social activities you will generally find you may be spending more of your savings. Whistler has the biggest housing crisis out of any place in Canada. If you are not going through our program to secure a bed or having a bed pre arranged, your chances of finding housing at the resort are next to none. They also don’t have any temporary accommodation so you would be paying top dollar to start in a hotel if you don’t have housing.

The snow here can be wet given its proximity to the coast. If you're a powder hound – yes, there are killer days... but that's it, days! Other resorts have powder skiing/riding on tap!

9 out of 10 positions at this hotel are back of house, namely housekeeping or cleaning. If you're not willing to consider these roles, don't apply for a hotel position. Without hotel experience, you'll likely be offered a back of house job. If you're not willing to do a housekeeping role, the employer probably won't want you. The competition for front of house roles is very high, so selecting a back of house role increases your chances of being hired. Work hard and you'll be promoted.
