Cathedral Mountain Lodge is located in Yoho National Park, the #2 best rated place in the world by National Geographic Traveler in 2009! The Lodge and cabins sit on the bank of the Kicking Horse River, 15 minutes from the town of Lake Louise. The River and Kicking Horse Pass were named by James Hector, a member of the Palliser Expedition in 1858, when he was wickedly kicked (he survived) by his packhorse while exploring the river!

Cathedral Mountain Lodge has on-site team member accommodation, including room, board and laundry for $13.00 a day and is deducted from each (semi-monthly) paycheck. A $100.00 damage deposit ($50.00 from your second and fourth pay cheques) will be deducted from each team member. Any damages to your accommodations will be taken out of this deposit. Remaining deposits will be credited back at the end of the season.

We have a total of 30 team members, 10 of which will live on-site at Cathedral Mountain Lodge and the remainder will live in our staff housing located in the Town of Field (5 minute drive). Our on‐site staff accommodation is located under the main lodge with rooms set up in dormitory style to sleep 2 people. Each room has a large private washroom with a shower. Each dorm has at least two windows and your own personal armoire and desk. We provide all bedding but be sure to bring your favourite pillow or blanket! Laundry facilities are located on site and are free of charge. We also provide laundry detergent.

There is a team dining area and a common room with internet and TV/DVD player (sorry no cable, due to location). There is wifi in the accommodation but has very limited speed due to the location, email and the like will work, picture heavy sites like facebook will struggle and sites like youtube or Netflix may not work at all.

Our staff house in Field is a 5 minute drive or 15 minute bike ride from the main lodge. The house is fully furnished and has a TV/DVD as well as access to wireless internet. The staff house in Field is equipped with a kitchen so you have the benefit of cooking yourself – unlike at the Lodge where you cannot. The tradeoff is the daily commute. Although we do have a team vehicle, preference will be given to those that are bringing their own vehicles.

As mentioned these are the more private rooms designated for managers, supervisors and/or couples. All team members have access to the staff house in Field and often converge for special parties there. While the wi-fi is generally faster here than at the lodge Field is still a remote location and speed is still very limited, site like YouTube and Netflix are sometimes functional but don’t work well.

Items provided in Staff Accommodation:

  • All bedding (mattress, sheets, duvet and pillow)
  • Armoire with clothes hangers (you must provide own lock)
  • Desk & Lamp
  • Shared bathroom
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Laundry Facilities: Laundry detergent, Iron and Ironing Boards
  • Common Spaces: TV’s, couches, games and entertainment.
